The Walk for Alzheimer’s is a community-based fundraising event taking place in over 150 communities across Canada. Funds raised go to support educational programs, counselling services, as well as support research into finding the cause and cure.

The bigger the group, the better the results. You can make your participation in the Walk for Alzheimer’s impactful by recruiting your friends, family, co-workers and neighbours to join you on a team.
Invite anyone you think might be interested and encourage your teammates to spread the word. When asking people to join your team, share your reason for walking to inspire them to make a difference.
It’s really simple to put your team on the winning track:
- Come up with a fun team name!
- Plan a costume or design your own t-shirts to honour the person with dementia in your lives.
- During the weeks leading up to the event, plan some team meetings to help motivate your team members.
- Throw small fundraising events to raise funds to contribute to your team goal.
Most importantly, make sure you celebrate your fundraising successes together.
