SUMMARY:Knowledge 2 Action (K2A): Supporting Responsive Behaviours in Dementia Care
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is for health care providers and staff who provide direct care to people with behaviour changes due to dementia or other cognitive impairment. This workshop offers the participants an opportunity to build on and practice skills gained from dementia training programs (such as U-First!). Through a case study approach\, participants will have an opportunity to work as a team and develop a supportive action plan for persons living with dementia who are experiencing responsive behaviours. \n  \nThis workshop will use case studies to help you: \n\nDeepen your understanding and ability to apply the U-First! & PIECES Framework\nIncrease the wellbeing and quality of life of people with dementia experiencing behaviour changes\nReduce stress and increase job satisfaction for you and for others on the team\nEnhance collaboration within the care team to develop and implement supportive strategies\n\nLearning Objectives: \n\nRecall the behavioural and psychological impact(s) of dementia\nDescribe the 7 Domains of Well Being\nRecognize that behaviour has meaning specific to the individual\nDevelop person-centred support strategies\nDevelop a supportive action plan as part of a team\n\nPre-requisites: Participants must have completed either ONE of the following: \n\nU-First! for Healthcare Providers\nDementia Care Training Program/ODCTP\nPIECES\n\n  \nDate and Time:\nThursday\, April 10th\, 2024 from 10:00am to 1:00pm \n  \nClick the link below to register:\nhttps://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/1ChrliMQRy6Pq97btuUhlQ \nWorkshop will be presented using Zoom.
