SUMMARY:Living with Ambiguous Loss Support Group
DESCRIPTION:This 4-week online caregiver support group will provide an opportunity for care partners of individuals living with dementia to come together to support each other through the caregiving experience\, with a structured focus on the concept of “Ambiguous Loss”. This group is inspired by Pauline Boss’ book “Loving Someone With Dementia“. \nLearning Objectives \n\nDevelop an understanding of the concept of “Ambiguous Loss” and ambiguous loss in the context of dementia\, and how this unique type of loss differs from other losses\nDevelop coping strategies to implement in their own lives\nObtain a better understanding of their own experiences of grief related to caring for their family member\nEngage in self reflection and share insights related to their caregiving experience\nLearn from others on adjusting to the losses and their own changing relationship to self and others\n\n  \nThis group will run for four consecutive weeks online using Zoom. Zoom information will be provided via email at least 24-48 hours prior to the start date. \nSession dates:\nThursdays from 10am–12pm\, starting July 17th ending August 7th. \n\nWeek 1 – July 17th\nWeek 2 – July 24th\nWeek 3 – July 31st\nWeek 4 – August 7th\n\n* Please note\, participants are expected to commit to all 4 sessions listed above. DESCRIPTION:This gentle low impact dance fitness class with Jenn uses diverse music and simple dance movements to create a dynamic and energizing aerobic workout. With easy to follow moves that can be done seated or standing\, this upbeat class is set to positive\, playful and uplifting music. You will be motivated by the joyful\, welcoming and supportive environment that encourages you to let go and have fun! No experience required. \nJenn Hicks is a Personal Trainer Size and Inclusive Fitness Specialist who has taught dance fitness classes for the past 17 years. She was named NOW Magazine’s Best Virtual Fitness Instructor for 2020. Jenn customizes routines for every class and helps attendees modify steps or movements whenever they need a little extra care. \nThis program will be held on Zoom. DESCRIPTION:6-Week Series on Thursdays\, July 3rd – August 7th from 1:30 – 3:00 PM at AST located at 20 Eglinton Ave West\, 16th floor. \nJuly 3rd\, 10th\, 17th\, 24th\, 31st\, & August 7th 2025 \nPhotography is more than just taking pictures—it’s a way to see the world\, tell stories\, create and hold onto wonderful memories. In this interactive workshop\, we invite you to explore the joy of capturing everyday moments through photography. \nOver six sessions\, we will reconnect with personal memories\, discover new ways of seeing\, and engage in meaningful conversations inspired by the images we create. Each week\, we will reflect on our photographs\, share our experiences\, and explore different themes—from light and shadow to storytelling through pictures. No prior photography experience is needed; it is said that the best camera is the one you have\, this workshop is about creative expression and personal connection. \nJoin us as we slow down\, curiously observe the world around us\, and find beauty in the small details. Let’s create together\, share our stories\, and celebrate the moments that matter. \nAbout the Instructor:\nPradeepto Roy is a visual storyteller who believes that photography offers a unique way to engage with the world.
