SUMMARY:Working with Clay with Noel Yardley
DESCRIPTION:February 23rd\, March 2nd\, 9th\, 16th\, 23rd. 30th 2026  \nThis 6-week course will familiarize participants with the basic techniques of working with clay with your hands – a great introduction to clay work. We will focus on three fundamental hand building skills: making a pinch pot\, a coil pot and finally a slab pot. The skills required are relatively simple and accessible to anyone with the right encouragement and support. In this in studio course\, all tools and materials will be provided. We will alternate weekly between forming a new type of pot and learning how to add easy decorative elements to our pots such as carving\, using an underglaze or slip and creating feet and handles.   \nThis program is for people living with mild to moderate dementia and their care partners. No previous pottery experience necessary.  \nFor more information please contact Kristin Bartlett or call 416-389-6099.
