SUMMARY:Individual Art Therapy with Tamiko Potts
DESCRIPTION:6 Week\, Fridays from October 23 – November 27th at AST located at 20 Eglinton Ave West\, 16th floor. \nChoose ONE of the time slots below: \n10:30 – 11:30 AM \n1:00 – 2:00 PM \n2:30 – 3:30 PM \n\n\n\nFacilitated by student art psychotherapist Tamiko Potts\, these one-to-one sessions are for people living with mild to moderate dementia alone or with a care partner. These sessions use the creative process to support self-expression\, emotional wellbeing\, identity\, and connection. Through art-making and guided reflection\, participants are invited to explore memories\, strengths\, relationships\, emotions\, and meaningful life experiences in a way that is accessible and adaptable to changing cognitive abilities. Sessions are individualized and may incorporate visual art\, sensory experiences\, mindfulness\, reminiscence\, and nature-based approaches. No artistic experience is necessary. \nTamiko Potts is a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist and student art psychotherapist studying at the Canadian International Institute of Art Therapy who believes creativity can help people connect\, reflect\, and find joy in everyday moments. Drawing from their background in visual arts\, storytelling and community engagement\, they create inclusive and welcoming spaces.
