DESCRIPTION:The Power of Music with Steve – Virtual Music Program (5-Week Series) \nWeekly on Wednesdays from January 15 – February 12th from 2:00 P.M – 3:00 P.M \n January 15th\, 22nd\, 29th\, February 5th\, & 12th 2025 \nThis program explores different musical genres through live musical performances and engaging conversations such as music on Broadway\, music and meditation\, great composers\, jazz\, musical improvisation\, and music and memories! It is an hour of pure joy and fun! \nSteve Koven is a composer\, performer\, producer\, educator\, and filmmaker. His band the Steve Koven Trio has toured the world for more than two decades\, and they have been coined the ‘Canadian Cultural Ambassadors’. As an educator\, Steve has been teaching in the Faculty of Music at Toronto’s York University\, teaching Contemporary Improvisation and Jazz Piano Studies. He also teaches in the Music Department at Centennial College. \nThis series is appropriate for learners at all levels and provides opportunities for each participant to engage at their own pace and in their own style. \nFor more information about this program\, please contact Kristin Bartlett at kbartlett@alz.to or by phone at 416-389-6099

Weaving together the stories of care partners\, it lifts the veil on what it is to love someone living with the disease as time becomes non-linear\, transporting you from the present to the past to an uncertain future. Along with rich\, unforgettable individual storytelling\, these narratives are woven into music performed by the Golden Threads Choir – a unique ensemble of people living with dementia along with their care partners – whose singing elicits joy\, connectedness\, and relationship to memories. This multidisciplinary production showcases the songs\, stories\, visual art and voices of people living with dementia in addition to those of their loved ones\, capturing the essential fabric of community and connection at its core. \nPricing\nRegular tickets: $25\nSupporter Tickets: $40 and include a $7.50 donation Cahoots Theatre and a $7.50 donation to Alzheimer Society Toronto\nSuper Supporter Tickets: $50 and include a $12.50 donation Cahoots Theatre and a $12.50 donation to Alzheimer Society Toronto \nPURCHASE TICKETS

This concert is designed to support the needs of neurodivergent and disabled attendees\, and Meridian Hall is a wheelchair accessible venue. Bring the whole family! Xenia Concerts welcomes all listeners. \nBruce is a Vancouver-based autistic advocate\, who has also composed and performed music throughout the world for the last 40 years. Performance highlights include accompanying Dame Kiri Te Kanawa on tour\, performing with the Count Basie and Woody Herman Big Bands and conducting in the West End of London.\nThis concert is designed to encourage intergenerational interactions through shared listening experience in a relaxed concert environment.
