DESCRIPTION:The TEACH (Training\, Education\, and Assistance for Caregiving at Home) Program is a support group for unpaid caregivers of persons with dementia. It consists of four weekly group sessions that are each 90 minutes long. \nLearning objectives: \n\nCoaches care partners in practical communication and coping skills\nFocus on common caregiving themes including; self-care\, healthcare system navigation\, relationship changes and future planning\nProvides opportunity to share and learn from other care partners\n\nSession dates:\nTuesdays from 5:00pm–6:30pm\, starting November 10 and ending December 1. \n\nWeek 1 – Tuesday November 10\, 2026\nWeek 2 – Tuesday November 17\, 2026\nWeek 3 – Tuesday November 24\, 2026\nWeek 4 – Tuesday December 1\, 2026\n\nPlease note\, participants are expected to commit to all 4 sessions listed above. SUMMARY:TEACH Program (Training\, Education\, and Assistance for Caregiving at Home)
DESCRIPTION:The TEACH (Training\, Education\, and Assistance for Caregiving at Home) Program is a support group for unpaid caregivers of persons with early/mid-stage dementia. It consists of 4 weekly group sessions that are each 90 minutes long. \nLearning objectives: \n\nFocus on common caregiving themes including self-care\, healthcare system navigation\, relationship changes\, and future planning\nCoaches care partners in practical communication and coping skills\nProvides opportunity to share and learn from other care partners\n\nSession dates:\nMondays from 5:30pm–7:00pm\, November 30th to December 21st \n\nWeek 1 – November 30th\, 2026 – 5:30pm-7:00pm\nWeek 2 – December 7th\, 2026 – 5:30pm-7:00pm\nWeek 3 – December 14th\, 2026 – 5:30pm-7:00pm\nWeek 4 – December 21st\, 2026 – 5:30pm-7:00pm\n\nPlease note\, participants are expected to commit to all 4 sessions listed above. Kindly register only if these dates work for you. \nIf registration is closed or this schedule does not work for you at this time\, you are encouraged to fill out the form on this webpage. Additionally\, you can check out our ongoing support groups that are available for registration month-to-month. See a list of upcoming support groups here. \n  \nRegistration and an assessment are prerequisites. Registration closes on December 14th.An Enhancing Care Clinician in the Social Work Department will contact you for your screening. Phone screenings usually take 10-15 minutes. Assessments can be done in-person or via Zoom and usually take 30-90 minutes.
