It offers a safe and supportive space to learn\, reflect\, and build skills to manage daily caregiving challenges. \n  \nIn this one-day\, in-person small-group workshop\, you will receive: \n\nSimple tools to solve daily caregiving problems\nHands-on coaching with experienced group leaders to practice new strategies\nThe chance to connect with others who understand your experience\n\n  \nSession dates: \nWorkshop: Wednesday November 25\, 2026 – 9:00am-4:15pm (in-person at AST Head office) \nFollow-up session one: Tuesday December 8\, 2026 – 1:30pm-3:00pm (online via Zoom) \nFollow-up session two: Tuesday December 22\, 2026 – 1:30pm-3:00pm (online via Zoom) \n  \nNote: The Facing Dementia Together Workshop is a new addition to the Enhancing Care Program (https://carersontario.ca/) created by the Reitman Centre at Mt. SUMMARY:Adult Child CARERS Program
DESCRIPTION:This 8-week online program is for adult child care partners of people with mid- to late-stage dementia (this typically means people caring for a parent\, but can include anyone who is the primary unpaid caregiver of a person with dementia). \nDeveloped by the Reitman Centre at Mount Sinai Hospital\, CARERS is a comprehensive dementia care support group that supports problem-solving skill development and introduces the innovative use of standardized patients – actors trained to simulate real-life situations – so that caregivers\, guided by expert clinical coaches\, will learn how to address communication challenges. DESCRIPTION:This 8-week online support group meets to provide participants with an opportunity to support each other through the grief and bereavement process. Both practical and emotional needs will be explored to help participants cope with a loss. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nOpportunity to share insights and experiences with each other related to their personal caregiving experiences\, as well as grief and bereavement\nLearn from others on adjusting to the loss and their own changing relationship to self and others.\nDiscuss and share different strategies regarding selfcare including discussion on stages of grief (various frameworks)\, finding meaning and exploring feelings related to loss and loneliness.\nReceive updated information on where to seek additional supports if desired\n\n  \nSession dates:\nTuesdays from 11:00am – 1:00pm\, starting February 2nd to March 23rd\nWeek 1 – February 2nd\nWeek 2 – February 9th\nWeek 3 – February 16th\nWeek 4 – February 23rd\nWeek 5 – March  2nd\nWeek 6 – March 9th\nWeek 7 – March 16th\nWeek 8 – March 23rd \nPlease note\, participants are expected to commit to all 8 sessions listed above. East End Friends is intended for people living with dementia and their care partners\, and it is offered through a culturally inclusive\, accessible and dementia-friendly lens. DESCRIPTION:Are you part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and caring for an individual diagnosed with OR suspected of having cognitive impairment?\nThis monthly caregiver support group will provide an opportunity for care partners who are part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community to share and learn with other care partners in a supportive and inclusive environment. \nParticipants decide on the focus and direction of the group\, and both practical and emotional needs are explored. \nThis support group meets on the last Thursday of every month from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm online using Zoom \nPlease fill out the following form to be added to the waitlist to join the ongoing support group:\n(Once there is room in the group\, the facilitator(s) will contact you for a brief telephone screening.
