This 4-week structured support group is for adult children of individuals living with dementia in the mid-to-late stages. We will explore the concept of ambiguous loss, develop coping strategies and gain understanding of feelings of grief when caring for a spouse or partner living with dementia. This support group will be offered on Zoom.

The support group provides adult children of someone living with dementia the opportunity to:

  • Learn about ambiguous loss, and ambiguous loss in the context of dementia, and how this unique type of loss differs from other losses
  • Develop strategies to continue to engage the person living with dementia despite your losses and feelings of grief
  • Engage in self-reflection
  • Learn how others are adjusting to their own changing relationships

Each week’s material will build on the weeks that came before, so we encourage participants to only sign up if they can commit to all 4 sessions.

Dates and Time:

Mondays – June 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Registration is required followed by a short pre-screeing by phone to be done prior to the start date of the program.
