DESCRIPTION:This 8-week online support group meets to provide participants with an opportunity to support each other through the grief and bereavement process. Both practical and emotional needs will be explored to help participants cope with a loss. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nOpportunity to share insights and experiences with each other related to their personal caregiving experiences\, as well as grief and bereavement\nLearn from others on adjusting to the loss and their own changing relationship to self and others.\nDiscuss and share different strategies regarding selfcare including discussion on stages of grief (various frameworks)\, finding meaning and exploring feelings related to loss and loneliness.\nReceive updated information on where to seek additional supports if desired\n\n  \nSession dates:\nTuesdays from 11:00am – 1:00pm\, starting October 6th to November 24th\nWeek 1 – October 6th\nWeek 2 – October 13th\nWeek 3 – October 20th\nWeek 4 – October 27th\nWeek 5 – November 3rd\nWeek 6 – November 10th\nWeek 7 – November 17th\nWeek 8 – November 24th \nPlease note\, participants are expected to commit to all 8 sessions listed above. DESCRIPTION:6 Week\, Fridays from October 23 – November 27th at AST located at 20 Eglinton Ave West\, 16th floor. \nChoose ONE of the time slots below: \n10:30 – 11:30 AM \n1:00 – 2:00 PM \n2:30 – 3:30 PM \n\n\n\nFacilitated by student art psychotherapist Tamiko Potts\, these one-to-one sessions are for people living with mild to moderate dementia alone or with a care partner. These sessions use the creative process to support self-expression\, emotional wellbeing\, identity\, and connection. Through art-making and guided reflection\, participants are invited to explore memories\, strengths\, relationships\, emotions\, and meaningful life experiences in a way that is accessible and adaptable to changing cognitive abilities. Sessions are individualized and may incorporate visual art\, sensory experiences\, mindfulness\, reminiscence\, and nature-based approaches. No artistic experience is necessary. \nTamiko Potts is a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist and student art psychotherapist studying at the Canadian International Institute of Art Therapy who believes creativity can help people connect\, reflect\, and find joy in everyday moments. Drawing from their background in visual arts\, storytelling and community engagement\, they create inclusive and welcoming spaces. SUMMARY:TEACH Program (Training\, Education\, and Assistance for Caregiving at Home)
DESCRIPTION:The TEACH (Training\, Education\, and Assistance for Caregiving at Home) Program is a support group for unpaid caregivers of persons with early/mid-stage dementia. It consists of 4 weekly group sessions that are each 90 minutes long. \nLearning objectives: \n\nFocus on common caregiving themes including self-care\, healthcare system navigation\, relationship changes\, and future planning\nCoaches care partners in practical communication and coping skills\nProvides opportunity to share and learn from other care partners\n\nSession dates:\nMondays from 5:30pm–7:00pm\, November 30th to December 21st \n\nWeek 1 – November 30th\, 2026 – 5:30pm-7:00pm\nWeek 2 – December 7th\, 2026 – 5:30pm-7:00pm\nWeek 3 – December 14th\, 2026 – 5:30pm-7:00pm\nWeek 4 – December 21st\, 2026 – 5:30pm-7:00pm\n\nPlease note\, participants are expected to commit to all 4 sessions listed above. Kindly register only if these dates work for you. \nIf registration is closed or this schedule does not work for you at this time\, you are encouraged to fill out the form on this webpage. Additionally\, you can check out our ongoing support groups that are available for registration month-to-month. See a list of upcoming support groups here. \n  \nRegistration and an assessment are prerequisites. Registration closes on December 14th.An Enhancing Care Clinician in the Social Work Department will contact you for your screening. Phone screenings usually take 10-15 minutes.
