SUMMARY:Frontotemporal Dementia Caregiver Support Group
DESCRIPTION:This monthly support group will provide an opportunity for care partners of individuals living with Frontotemporal dementia to come together to support each other through the caregiving experience.\n \nLearning Objectives:\n– Opportunity to share insights with each other related to their personal caregiving experiences\n– Become familiar with this specific type of dementia\n– Discuss and share different strategies regarding self-care and care for the person they are supporting (including stress\, communication and responding to behaviours)\n– Learn about how others are adjusting to their own changing relationship\n– Receive updated information about the services available at the Alzheimer Society of Toronto\n \n \n\nEvery 3rd Thursday of the month from 5:30pm to 7:00pm online using Zoom.\n(Zoom information will be provided via email at least 24-48 hours prior to the date) \n  \n*Disclaimer: Registration is required and closes at midnight (12am) the Monday prior to the session. SUMMARY:The Emily & Bernice Early Stages Support Program
DESCRIPTION:These short-term support groups are for people living with early-stage memory loss\, mild cognitive impairment\, or dementia. These four-session support groups aim to improve quality of life by providing a space where people can share experiences\, discuss the emotional impact of a diagnosis and associated losses\, share coping strategies\, and support one another. \n\nThese groups are available in a virtual format (Zoom) and In-person. Each round consists of four weekly sessions that are 60 minutes long. Pre-screening with the person living with early-stage memory loss\, mild cognitive impairment\, or dementia is required for this group. \n\n\n\nInformation about this group: \nWhen: Wednesday November 20th\, November 27th\, December 4th\, and December 11th\nTime: 3:00pm – 4:00pm \nWhere: 20 Eglinton Ave West\, 16th Floor\, Toronto\n(Northwest corner of Yonge and Eglinton\, across the street from Yonge and Eglinton subway station.
