The cross-generational arts programming\, also open to care partners and allies\, encourages participants to engage at their own pace and in their own unique way—no previous art experience is necessary.  Pride in Our Memories is facilitated by Canvas Programs\, a registered charity that provides empathy-based\, arts-inspired education on 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion and consent. SUMMARY:Working with Clay with Noel Yardley
DESCRIPTION:February 23rd\, March 2nd\, 9th\, 16th\, 23rd. 30th 2026  \nThis 6-week course will familiarize participants with the basic techniques of working with clay with your hands – a great introduction to clay work. We will focus on three fundamental hand building skills: making a pinch pot\, a coil pot and finally a slab pot. The skills required are relatively simple and accessible to anyone with the right encouragement and support. In this in studio course\, all tools and materials will be provided. We will alternate weekly between forming a new type of pot and learning how to add easy decorative elements to our pots such as carving\, using an underglaze or slip and creating feet and handles.   \nThis program is for people living with mild to moderate dementia and their care partners. DESCRIPTION:This monthly caregiver support group will provide an opportunity for care partners of individuals diagnosed with OR suspected of having cognitive impairment residing in a long-term care or a retirement home environment to come together to share personal feelings and support each other through the caregiving experience. \nShould you choose to participate in this group please know that we expect you to observe the strictest confidentiality. In order to participate in this group\, the person you support must have some cognitive impairment and you or the resident must live in the M postal code. \nTo guide discussion\, the group will focus on different themes relating to long-term care and retirement home environments. She was named NOW Magazine’s Best Virtual Fitness Instructor for 2020. Jenn customizes routines for every class and helps attendees modify steps or movements whenever they need a little extra care. \nThis program will be held on Zoom. SUMMARY:Working with Clay with Noel Yardley
DESCRIPTION:February 23rd\, March 2nd\, 9th\, 16th\, 23rd. 30th 2026  \nThis 6-week course will familiarize participants with the basic techniques of working with clay with your hands – a great introduction to clay work. We will focus on three fundamental hand building skills: making a pinch pot\, a coil pot and finally a slab pot. The skills required are relatively simple and accessible to anyone with the right encouragement and support. In this in studio course\, all tools and materials will be provided. We will alternate weekly between forming a new type of pot and learning how to add easy decorative elements to our pots such as carving\, using an underglaze or slip and creating feet and handles.   \nThis program is for people living with mild to moderate dementia and their care partners. DESCRIPTION:6-Week Series on Tuesdays from January 13th – February 17th from 1:30-3PM at Riverdale Public Library located at 37 Broadview Ave. \nJanuary 13th\, 20th\, 27th\, February 3rd\, 10th & 17th 2026.  \nStep into Stories of a Lifetime\, a joyful and inclusive workshop where every voice matters. Designed to embrace mild cognitive impairment and early-stage dementia participants and their care partners. This series—led by storyteller Sage Tyrtle—celebrates the magic of shared memories and the connections they bring. No experience needed!  \nTo lighten the mood\, we will have short laughing exercises with Magarita Caropresi.  \nWhat you’ll experience: \n\nGentle\, inspiring prompts to spark your unique stories\nA safe and supportive space where all voices and cognitions are respected and valued\nCreative expression through words\, gestures\, or keepsakes\nThe power of storytelling to connect and uplift \n\n Every story is a gift—whether whispered\, remembered\, or newly discovered. Come as you are\, and let’s celebrate the tales that make us\nwho we are.  \nSage Tyrtle is a professional storyteller and writer based in Toronto. Her work appears in New Delta Review\, The Offing\, Lunch Ticket\, and Apex Magazine. She’s told stories on NPR\, CBC Radio\, and PBS’s Stories from the Stage\, and has performed in Canada\, the U.S.\, and India. DESCRIPTION:This ongoing monthly support group provides an opportunity for care partners of individuals living with Lewy Body and Parkinson’s Dementia to come together to support each other through the caregiving experience. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nInteract with other group members caring for those with Lewy Body or Parkinson’s Dementia\nBecome familiar with these specific types of dementias\nReceive therapeutic support as well as educational information to enhance your caregiving experience\nShare your experiences and concerns and receive support from the group facilitators and other group members in a safe space\n\n  \nEvery 2nd Monday of the month from 5:30pm to 7:00pm online using Zoom\n(Zoom information will be provided via email at least 24-48 hours prior to the date) \n  \n*Disclaimer: Registration for this group closes on the Wednesday prior to the session. SUMMARY:Yoga Program
DESCRIPTION:Yoga with Julia  \n6-Week Series on Mondays\, January 5th to February 9th\, from 1:30-3:00 PM at St-Andrew’s United Church located at 117 Bloor St East.  \nJanuary 5th\, 12th\, 19th\, 26th\, February 2nd & 9th 2026.  \nJoin a weekly breath-focused therapeutic movement practice to nourish mind\, body\, and soul. Each session will include gentle movements\, breathwork\, and guided relaxation to help you cultivate ease and presence. A principle of the yoga therapy tradition is that if you can breathe\, you can do yoga! As such\, this series is open and safe for students of all abilities and invitations to modify will be offered throughout.  \nJulia Ayearst is a certified Yoga Therapist working throughout Tkaronto.
