Dementia Palliative Care Training is designed so front-line healthcare staff can improve their awareness, knowledge, skills, value and principles of Hospice Palliative Care. They will learn about the care needs, issues, common fears and expectations of individuals living with dementia at the late and end-stages of the disease.

PRE-REQUISITE: This workshop is for PSWs or Front-line Health Care Providers.

This workshop is facilitated by Hospice Palliative Care Ontario and the Alzheimer Society of Toronto staff.  Front-line healthcare professionals will gain awareness, knowledge, skills, value and principles of Hospice Palliative Care in the context of how to address:

  • Care needs, issues, common fears and expectations of individuals living with dementia at the late and end-stages of the disease
  • The needs and concerns of individuals involved in delivering care are also discussed
