SUMMARY:Mid-Town Social
DESCRIPTION:May 13th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at AST located at 20 Eglinton Ave West\, 16th floor. \nMid-Town Social: Ikebana Program \nMid-Town Social supports social wellness for people living with dementia and their care partners. In this session\, Aya Sugino and Keith Francis introduce Ikebana—the traditional Japanese art of flower arranging. \nIkebana\, meaning “the way of flowers\,” is a 500-year-old practice that emphasizes balance\, simplicity\, and mindfulness. They will also explain its core elements: Shin\, Soe\, and Hikae\, representing heaven\, humanity\, and earth. A raffle for the Ikebana display will follow the session. \nAbout the Presenters\nAya Sugino is a certified Ikebana instructor with over 15 years of experience\, having taught widely and created installations for major cultural\, corporate\, and hospitality venues. \nKeith Francis is an interdisciplinary researcher specializing in design\, biophilia\, and dementia.
