4 Weeks, Mondays September 14th – October 15th from 1:30 – 3:00 PM at AST located at 20 Eglinton Ave West, 16th floor.

This art therapy program is for people living with mild to moderate dementia and their care partners. Through artmaking, sensory exploration, and mindfulness-inspired activities, participants will be invited to connect with creativity, self-expression, and one another in a relaxed and supportive environment. Together we will explore fall-themed experiences through collage, nature-based artmaking and mindfulness practices. Participants will be invited to reflect on themes of harvest, gratitude, comfort, connection, and seasonal change through creative expression. No artistic experience is necessary – just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to explore.

The series is facilitated by Tamiko Potts, a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist and student art psychotherapist studying at the Canadian International Institute of Art Therapy who believes creativity can help people connect, reflect, and find joy in everyday moments. Drawing from their background in visual arts, storytelling. and community engagement, they create inclusive and welcoming spaces. Their approach is gentle, collaborative, and rooted in curiosity, cultural humility and compassion incorporating artmaking, sensory experiences, and mindfulness alongside creative exploration.
