August 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st 2026

Join this four-part Group Art Therapy series facilitated by Kathleen Downie. Many of our participants will recognize Kathleen from the engaging art programs she has led with the Alzheimer Society of Toronto over the years. Kathleen is currently completing her Art Therapy training through the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute (VATI) Distance Program.

As part of her training, Kathleen will facilitate group art therapy sessions for individuals living with mild to moderate dementia or mild cognitive impairment (MCI), along with their care partners. Through individual and collaborative creative activities, participants will have the opportunity to explore and express thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a supportive and welcoming environment. Using a variety of artistic materials and mediums, the group will discover new ways to connect, reflect, and communicate through the creative process. No previous art experience is required.
