Will a representative of the Alzheimer Society of Toronto attend and/or speak at my event?
We appreciate invitations to attend and speak at independent fundraising events but unfortunately can’t promise to be involved in all events due to limited capacity. Requests to attend events will be considered based on the amount of notice provided, the size and type of event, and the event location. We must also take into consideration the Society’s current schedule of signature events and other Society campaigns and activities.
Can I receive branded swag or literature to support my event?
Please email events@alz.to to share information about your event including how many attendees will be in person, and your fundraising goal. We try our best efforts to support your initiative, where we are able.
Can I add the Alzheimer Society of Toronto logo to my promotional materials?
The Alzheimer Society of Toronto must approve all promotional materials before they are presented to the public. It is never permissible to use the “Alzheimer Society of Toronto” logo without written permission from the Society. Please contact events@alz.to, to ask permission to use our logo.
How does my fundraising get used?
At the Alzheimer Society of Toronto (AST), we strive to make sure that no one has to feel alone in their journey living with dementia. Since 1981, we have been delivering free programs, education, healthcare navigation, and counselling for individuals living with dementia and their families and care partners. All of AST’s programs and services are offered at no cost to individuals living with dementia and their care partners, thanks to fundraisers and donors in our community. Thank you!
I am hosting a fundraising event. Do I have to have an online fundraising page?
If you’re planning to fundraise solely offline (collecting cash and cheque without online donations) you are not required to register your page through our website, however we recommend that you do!
There are many benefits to having an online fundraising page as an accompaniment to your actual event. Friends and family who are not able to attend your event will be able to support your fundraising goal with an online donation. You can also use the page to digitally promote to supporters locally, nationally, and all over the world! All donations made online are instantly tax receipted.
You can also personally customize your page to reflect your fundraising mission, goals, and to share your reason for choosing us and taking up this cause.
How do I submit cash and cheque donations or money raised through my event to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto?
There are several ways that you can deposit your fundraising. You must accompany your funds with our pledge form to record all donations with donor names and complete addresses or record the amount your event raised ex. bake sale proceeds $300 when submitting funds.
You can choose to mail in a *cheque or submit cash in person or through an EFT transfer. Please email events@alz.to for assistance. *Cheques must be made payable to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto. To mail in a cheque, mail to:

How do I ensure my donors receive a tax receipt? What/who is eligible?
We provide tax receipts in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines. A full name and complete mailing address must be provided on the pledge form for us to issue a tax receipt for eligible donations. Donations are considered when someone is not receiving an item in return for their money, such as a product (ex. bake sale item), raffle or sponsorship. If you have any questions or concerns regarding tax receipting, please see the Canada Revenue Agency website or email events@alz.to for assistance.
