Friday, July 24th from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M at High Park North Gates located at High Park Ave and Bloor St West.

Join us for an Art Therapy Picnic in the Park, a relaxed and engaging summer gathering for people living with mild to moderate dementia and their care partners. Through therapeutic art activities inspired by the season, participants will have the opportunity to explore creativity, self-expression, connection, and wellbeing in a welcoming outdoor setting.

The program includes a picnic lunch, all art supplies, and guided activities designed to be accessible and enjoyable for all abilities. No artistic experience is necessary – just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to explore. Come enjoy fresh air, good company, and a meaningful afternoon of art and connection.

Facilitated by Tamiko Potts, a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist and student art psychotherapist studying at the Canadian International Institute of Art Therapy who believes creativity can help people connect, reflect, and find joy in everyday moments. Drawing from their background in visual arts, storytelling and community engagement, they create inclusive and welcoming spaces. Their approach is gentle, collaborative, and rooted in curiosity, cultural humility and compassion incorporating artmaking, sensory experiences, and mindfulness alongside creative exploration.
