Navigating Together Support Group
Categories: Support Groups

This six-session, weekly support group is an opportunity for people living with dementia, or Mild Cognitive Impairment, and their care partners to join a support group together. Here pairs can come together to share and find support from others navigating similar challenges or concerns. These semi-structured sessions offer a space to explore topics such as coping with changes, communication, evolving relationships and roles, maintaining independence, and planning.
This short-term support group aims to provide a space where participants can share experiences from their perspective as a person living with dementia or as a care partner. Participants are welcomed as pairs to explore ways to adapt to changes together, find a new normal, and discuss and share unique strategies that support autonomy, safety, and self-care.
The group is facilitated by Social Workers at the Alzheimer Society of Toronto who help promote informative and supportive group discussion.
