What is Social with a Purpose?
Social with a Purpose (formerly known as Coffee Break) is an annual fundraising and awareness event coordinated by local Alzheimer Society chapters across Ontario. Organizations are invited to host a Social with a Purpose any time during the month of September and October, in celebration of World Alzheimer’s Day. Social with a Purpose promotes the importance of socializing, staying in touch, and building strong, positive relationships with your friends, family, and community.

How to Host a Social with a Purpose
Use your Social with a Purpose fundraiser as an excuse to get together and connect with your friends, family, and community! From online card games, coffee breaks, spicing up your Zoom meetings with a game of BINGO, or creating your own way to virtually get together, you can support people living with dementia by turning your virtual social gathering into a fundraiser! Have an idea and want to get started? Register your fundraiser and receive a customized web page with a unique link to help promote your event.
Where and when does a Social with a Purpose take place?
Social with a Purpose takes place during the months of September and October in celebration of World Alzheimer’s Day which is on September 21, 2020. You can organize an event at your home, workplace or virtually with friends and family.
