Joking Aside, Improv Workshop with Nigel
Friday, August 9th from 1:30 P.M –  3:00 P.M at the Alzheimer Society of Toronto Head Office located at 20 Eglinton Ave W, 16th floor.

Did you know that you improvise everyday? Believe it! In Joking Aside: Improv …with Nigel, we will take that very skill you already have and use it to creatively learn, play – and most importantly – laugh. A bunch! Best part is – you don’t need to be funny. You just need to be in the moment.
Nigel is a comedian, actor and writer, based in Toronto. An alumnus of The Second City Toronto, Nigel co-wrote and co-starred in the CBC Gem/Prime Video comedy web-series BIT PLAYAS, which won two Canadian Screen Awards for Best Writing and Best Web Series. Select credits include: GHOSTS (CBS), BARONESS VON SKETCH SHOW (CBC) and THE SOCIAL (CTV). You’ll also recognize him from numerous Canadian and U.S. national commercials for major brands like Desjardins, Tim Hortons and McDonald’s. Nigel performs and teaches improv comedy, and has extensive experience in writing rooms. Adding to such shows as TOTAL DRAMA ISLAND and commercials, for brands like NINTENDO.
Yes, and… this one-time workshop will include entry level games and exercises that expand the world of improv and open other ways for you to communicate with your family, friends and peers. No Experience necessary. Positivity and an open mind, a must.
This series is appropriate for people living with mild to moderate dementia or cognitive impairments, no background in improv, all are welcome.
