We provide support to people impacted by any type of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, Frontotemporal dementia, Lewy Body dementia, Vascular dementia, and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
Support Options
Our social workers provide safe, confidential counselling where you can talk about your experience, learn about dementia, gain practical coping strategies to help cope with your own or a family member’s dementia, discover local programs and resources, stay informed on the latest research, and learn how to plan for the future.
Join a FREE dementia support group to learn from the experiences of others, share insights, or cope with the loss of a loved one. Our support groups are facilitated by registered social workers, offered during the daytime or evenings, and available to anyone touched by dementia.
Our programs and workshops address topics that will help you and your family live well with dementia and navigate the changes the disease brings.
Get the assistance you need connecting to various dementia support and services. Our highly experienced First Link Care Navigators can help get you started or simply coordinate your existing services.
Delivered in partnership with the Sinai Health System Reitman Centre, the Enhancing Care (EC) Program offers therapeutic skills training to family or other unpaid care partners who are giving care to individuals living with dementia. The program provides practical skill-building and emotional support to help care partners deal with the stress and complexities of caregiving.
The Dementia Talk App is an award- winning mobile application that was designed to empower caregivers of people with dementia to manage care at home through tracking behaviours and creating care plans to address challenging situations they encounter. The app was created by the Reitman Centre at Mount Sinai Hospital and transferred to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto.
