In light of our community being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Alzheimer Society Toronto (AST) has modified our services to a virtual platform. AST recognizes that in times of community distress many individuals want to be of assistance, helping where there is need. The offer of help and willingness to support our organization through volunteer service is greatly appreciated. Our organization’s priority is the health and safety of our community. The ability of AST responding to volunteer applications is limited by preparations for the new and rapidly changing service reality. For this reason, new volunteer opportunities and recruitment are currently on hold as we engage our current active volunteers in the limited remote opportunities. To receive the latest volunteering information, we encourage you to subscribe to the newsletter. For more information and guidance surrounding COVID-19, please refer to trusted sources such as the Public Health Agency of Canada. We thank you for your understanding.
Volunteers are an essential part of our success as an organization. With your help and contribution, we will continue to develop vibrant communities free of stigma and fostering inclusion of people living with dementia, their families, neighbours, coworkers and care partners.
We have an ongoing need for volunteers of all ages and skill levels to help throughout the year. Whether you are looking for one to one interaction in our recreation programs, short-term event and fundraising support, staffing health and wellness displays throughout the community or assisting with administrative tasks around the office, we would love to hear from you!
