Volunteers are an essential part of our success as an organization. With your help and contribution, we will continue to develop vibrant communities free of stigma and fostering inclusion of people living with dementia, their families, neighbours, coworkers and care partners.

We have an ongoing need for volunteers of all ages and skill levels to help throughout the year. Whether you are looking for one to one interaction in our recreation programs, short-term event and fundraising support, staffing health and wellness displays throughout the community or assisting with administrative tasks around the office, we would love to hear from you!

Alzheimer Society Music Project

Alzheimer Society Music Project

The Alzheimer Society Music Project was created in response to evidence showing the benefits of music on people living with dementia. Through this program, eligible participants receive MP3 players loaded with music that is personally meaningful to them. Volunteers have a unique opportunity to make a personal difference in the life of a person living with dementia. While we serve over 1000 clients each year, each person’s music package is tailored and created with care with the help of volunteers who contribute from the time we receive an application to when it is distributed. Volunteers provide support in variety of roles including curating music playlists, data entry, shipping, client calls, general administrative support, promotion at music festivals and health fairs, and more!
