This 8-week program is for care partners of people with mid- to late-stage dementia that are living in long-term care. CARERS is a comprehensive dementia care program that supports problem-solving skill development and introduces the innovative use of standardized patients – actors trained to simulate real-life situations – so that caregivers, guided by expert clinical coaches, will learn how to address communication challenges.
This session will cover strategies to support persons living with dementia and their family or care partner(s). This webinar looks to address the challenges that come with the adjustment to moving to Long Term Care, to reflect on the importance of validating feelings, and learn strategies that support communication with the family members of people living with dementia.
