Virtual Art Talks with Art Gallery Ontario (AGO) – ONLINE

Are you looking for a more in-depth experience of the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO)? The AGO is offering engaging small group virtual art talks for Alzheimer Society Toronto. The AGO will help you explore their collection through conversation, exchanging ideas and observations about the selected artworks. This is a one-hour virtual art talk hosted on Zoom. The program is designed for people living with dementia and their caregivers. The art talk is facilitated by an experienced AGO Art Educator and is assisted by Alzheimer Society of Toronto’s volunteers.

Registration is required to receive the Zoom link to participate.

*please note, only 1 registration for each email address, you could then share your screen with however many people you wish to attend with you.

Boomers Club – ONLINE

The Boomers Club focuses on wellness for people with Early Onset Dementia and their care partners. In this online series, we will be creating informal connections among people who are on the same journey while engaging in a variety of recreational activities including art, games, exercise, food, social chats and more. The program is flexible and can be modified based on the needs and interests of the group participants.

Join facilitator, Heather from 4:30 – 5:30 P.M. on the following dates:

Wednesday, December 10 – Holiday Music with Emilio – Join the Boomers Club as we come together to sing popular holiday favourites with Emilio!

Come and enjoy an hour of live music, provided by Justis! Justis is a Music Therapist with Miya Music Therapy. Join us for a Sing-A-Long with Justis and his guitar to popular oldies.

Mondays – November 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm 

The Active Minds Club offers an inclusive space online for recreation, cognitive, and social stimulation, while extending respite opportunities for caregivers. This program is intended for persons living with young onset dementia, early stages of dementia and mild cognitive impairment. Join us throughout the month for a variety of programs! These programs will be held on Zoom.

For readers who love the inspiration, humor, hope and real-life stories that come alive in Chicken Soup for the Soul books! Join Brent and fellow Book Club members as we read and review short stories through guided themed discussions.

This program is intended for people living with early stages of dementia, young onset dementia and mild cognitive impairment. Book Club will be held on Zoom, participants will be mailed their book prior to the program. Short stories will be assigned to read prior to each session.

Days and time: Thursdays from 10:30 A.M. – 11:30 A.M.
