The Alzheimer Society of Toronto invites you to join us in recognizing the incredible dedication of the caregivers in our community on National Caregiver Day.

Date: April 7
Time: 1:00 – 4:00 PM
Location: 20 Eglinton Ave East, 16th Floor

Caregiving is a journey filled with compassion, patience, and resilience. On this special day, we want to celebrate you.

Join us for a relaxing afternoon where caregivers can take a well-deserved break, connect with others who understand the caregiving journey, and enjoy a light lunch in a supportive community environment.

To help make this possible, we will also be offering on-site respite for individuals living with dementia during the event if that is needed. This will include an activity and a light lunch as well.

We want this to be meaningful for you, so you may choose to:

  • Stay and relax with fellow caregivers and enjoy a light lunch and conversation; or
  • Take a little “you time” to step out for lunch, run errands, or do some shopping in the neighbourhood

This day is about taking time for yourself.

If you plan to drop off your loved one for respite, we kindly ask that you:

  • Spend a few minutes settling them in and ensuring they feel comfortable
  • Remain in the Yonge and Eglinton area so you can return within 15 minutes if needed

Spots are limited, so we encourage you to register early.

We hope you will join us for this special opportunity to pause, recharge, and celebrate the compassion and dedication that caregivers bring every day.

If you have any questions please reach out to Cassandra Koenen at ckoenen@alz.to

We ask that you register yourself and the individual requiring respite (if needed) separately with the buttons below. This will ensure spots for both individuals.

4-week series from Wednesday June 3rd to June 24th, from 1:30-3:00. Please note that when you are signing up, you are committing to all four weeks that start on June 3rd.

Join us for a Seated Boxing program.  This unique and enjoyable fitness experience, led by a former Canadian professional boxer, is a fun and engaging way to stay active. Classes are done from a seated position, with the option to stand if comfortable.

Participants learn the six basic boxing punches and practice simple combinations that help keep the mind sharp while the body moves. Exercise can improve heart health, strength, coordination, and fine motor skills.

Everyone works at their own pace, and each participant receives individual attention within the group setting.  We also include gentle brain training activities during the class to support memory, language, and problem-solving skills.

This program is intended for people living with dementia along with their care partners. Light refreshments available.
