This monthly, drop-in support group provides an opportunity for spouses caring for a person living with dementia to come together and support each other through the caregiving experience. The goals of this group are to share personal feelings, increase healthy coping strategies, decrease isolation, and improve awareness of resources and supports in the community.
Topics for discussion will be tailored to group needs, but may include:
- Managing stress
- Ambiguous loss
- Guilt
- Family dynamics
- Self-care
- Understanding responsive behaviors
- Long-term care
Dates and time: 1st Tuesday of every month from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.

Weekly on Mondays: November 4 to December 9 (6-weeks) from 11:00am – 12:00pm
Pour yourself a cup of tea and join us online for a little plant inspiration! Led by horticultural therapy practitioner and forest therapy guide, Emma Rooney, this group is a supported place to get your weekly dose of nature. Each session includes a short nature meditation, a wondrous plant tour, and a fun botanical art activity. As we head into cooler temperatures and darker days, find encouragement for staying connected to nature to boost your health and mental well-being!
This program will be held on Zoom. Participants will be mailed program materials and expected to collect some simple supplies on their own (instructions provided).

The Alzheimer Society of Toronto runs a monthly support group that provides an opportunity for family caregivers who are part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community to share and learn with other caregivers in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Participants decide on the focus and direction of the group, and both practical and emotional needs are explored.
